WOW 1 year already?

Wow one year already? August 4, 2020 that's when piper's closet opened! I can't believe it has already been one year, one year! If this past year has taught me anything it's that I can literally do anything I put my mind to. I have always been an entrepreneur you can ask my friends that I would bother with 1 million business ideas every single day! I tried and failed and tried and failed again at so many different business ventures.  It wasn't until I had piper that sparked, obviously, Pipers closet. I get asked all the time why I started it and to be honest I just thought of it and ran with it. Yeah it was hard finding super cute neutral trendy baby clothing in Canada that's for sure! All the items that I found that I loved online were from the states or overseas somewhere. When I started doing piper picks it on TikTok and everybody was commenting saying we need our own clothing line that's when it really hit me. I've always been a go-getter honestly whatever I wanted in life I did it I guess you could call that impulsive ha ha. But in the small business world it's a good thing to be impulsive and go after what you really want. When I first started I did make some waves but I did come into this community with an open mind and an open heart. One of the best things I ever did was reach out to a few businesses that I've purchased from before and explain to them, not ask for permission but explain, that I would be starting a baby boutique similar to theirs but I didn't want this to start a competition I wanted it to be the beginning of community. And from that, I found my best friends. To say that it's rainbows and sunshine all the time would be completely false I'm sure some of you know it's very hard to remain professional when your integrity and your business is in question. I really pride myself on community over competition and I go out of my way to make my new competitors feel welcome in this space because that is some thing I found was lacking a little bit when I first started. I guess the moral of this story is there is room for all of us however it is good to be original. Don't forget to put your originality and your spin on your business I think that's what has really helped me flourish into the business I am today. Thank you all so much for reading my first blog post it's not the most grammatically correct or maybe it doesn't actually even make sense but I'm excited to see where Pipers closet is in another year from now and I thank you all so much for your outpouring of support and I will hopefully be doing more blog posts so stay tuned! XOXO Mik
